Day 8 – I discover Osaka

– April 20th 2023 –

Today is Osaka Bay day! I woke up late, I had issues with my instagram account. I could not get access to it because they asked me for a code that I never received. You can guess that it really annoyed me. It is not the end of the world but I was pissed. I joined one of the girls that I met in Tokyo. We went to the castle of Osaka, where you have a nice view over the city. It was really nice. The entrance is about 600 JPY.

We had a nice chat about everything, something I love about people you just meet and you know that you won’t be able to stay for a long time together. You speak about absolutely everything without being judged and that is nice. After that it was lunch time. We found a standing soba place, our feets hurt haha.

OSAKA BAY

We decided to go to Osaka Bay to see the sea and the port. It is a nice area. There is a wheel that allows you to see all over Osaka. We took the ticket to go there but we waited until dark to see it at night with all the lights.

While we were waiting we chatted, we visited the commercial center, and the bay. We also tried some Takoyaki. Then we finally went on the wheel, which was great. We waited 20 min to have a full glass cabin. The view was splendid, the harbor, and all the lights.

Then, we went to eat in Dotonbori, the famous street in Osaka. Full of incredible restaurant fronts. Full of people. But a cheap place to eat. It was nice, we went to a restaurant : Sanpei. It was behind a small alley full of lanterns. It was really picturesque. The food was really good. It was yakisoba and okonomiyaki.

We had to queue to enter the restaurant but it was worth it. Then, we walk around Dotonbori, and enjoy the famous lights around. That was exactly like what you imagine when you think about Japan at night. At least how I imagined it. We said goodbye and went separate ways. I was back in the hostel and I barely slept because of the heat of the cabin. It was FUCKING hot, FFS!
